Fairly or not I think OKC is viewed to have too much defensive talent, like other then Isaiah Joe basically every single one of the guys in their projected rotation is somewhere between good and all defense talent with enough minutes

“My unpopular take is that while both teams benefited from the Hali/Sabonis trade” even if they had to trade Haliburton because they think Fox is better (which can still be defended) the talent downgrade is still huge for me, Haliburton is younger and Sabonis will never be at the level he showed last year before his injury
Good but not dominant scorer who is very dependent on the match up, he’s a GREAT play finisher, but his post game just doesn’t work at all vs guys who can match his strenght
Gets a crazy amount of his assists on basic handoffs, still a very good passer but no where near the elite passer that some of his assists numbers seem to indicate
Very good rebounder but again, I am supposed to believe he’s some sort of insane rebounder after getting ABUSED by Kevon Looney on the boards a year ago
Has never been good in the playoffs wether it’s as a role player or a star
Funnily enough his defense is not THAT bad, but still he’s a center that can neither switch nor protect the rim, that puts a hard ceiling on a team’s defense that even a well below average guard wouldn’t
Both kinda failed as starters, Jones has been by far the better back up in the regular season, but has been pretty bad in the playoffs, while Schroder has shown that he can be useful there because he’s at least playable defensively
Good for him, if he wants to actually play point guard (which he was decent as in Europe before the NBA and during some stretches in his NBA career) instead of just being a 3&D guy good for him, he can still have fun (not sure he’s still good enough to do it on a REALLY good Euroleague team but we’ll see)
I mean he’s bouncing from team to team because at this point he’s a back up point guard at the minimum who has deep flaws despite still having some pretty unique strenghts, those kind of player usually don’t last long on a team, just ask his former teammate Ish Smith (who btw was a great teammate by all account too).
You can judge the player, but I don’t see why you would say anything about him as a teammate while pretty much every guy he’s played with and has talked about him has defended by from that standpoint
The answer was to trade either one of them for a better player then Sabonis and if that player wasnt available just wait
