5. Seine not really suited for a ceremony - imagine you spend a few thousand Euros to sit in the rain ; then imagine for your money you will watch the vast majority of the ceremony on a TV screen since the live show takes place somewhere else along the river. Congrats you have the same experience (minus the rain) as people watching in front of the TV that didn’t pay a single cent

I have attended live both the Opening and the Closing ceremonies - the Closing one was way more coherent and everyone at the stadium was able to enjoy it equally. It was however not at the level of the Opening ceremony, would have loved to see all that at Stade de France.

This will be thrown out ASAP, really bizarre lawsuit. I get the hate she endured, but this is no way to handle it, someone on her team doesn’t know how to do PR.

They did. Because of the Olympics Paris infested invested in new sewage system which should make Seine swim able for the general public starting next summer.

The average Parisian has one of the best public transport systems, even with line 13 being broken all the time. I hope people are ready to drive 2 hours to each Olympic venue in LA, since this will be a reality on 2028.

I mean isn’t the lady mid-30s? I am almost 40 myself, and I can imagine a lot of young people interested in breaking were like: “what’s a walking zombie momma doing at a breaking event?”.

Women’s marathon being down to the wire till the very end. Also the fact that the winner got bronze in 10km two days before, this was Emil Zatopek levels of running.
