I’ve seen a lot of The Thrill Of Victory, but what were some moments when a team or person sorta crashed and burned? Alison Gibson, Stiliana Nikolova, Team France Gymnastics. What did I miss? Not trying to be negative just seeing the ups and downs.

for me, that whole Jordan Chiles situation was pretty brutal for both athletes. The romanian athlete celebrating with her flag then realizing that she didnt get the medal. Now Chiles celebrating and having the high of her life to all come crashing down a few days later. Idk the whole situation but sucks for both athletes
Also the third athlete that should have gotten bronze but was wrongfully deducted.
Femke Bol, I’m sure she wanted to try for Gold, in the end she barely got Bronze. She was really distressed after the run and later mentioned during the interview she ran a terrible race (went out to hard to patch the leader’s pace ; made a mistake on the last jump by switching legs).

Definitely the Aussie Boomers losing a TWENTY FOUR POINT lead against Serbia in the Men’s Basketball Quarterfinals. We were the bronze medalists in Tokyo. The pain was compounded by it being Patty Mills last Olympics. 😭

Australia’s womens Rugby 7’s losing in last second to U.S.
Walid Bidani, Algerian weightlifter. His singlet was nonconforming, so he tried to cover the Adidas stripes with black tape. I didn’t see his first attempt, but the tape got stuck on his arm during the second and ruined the lift. He never even made it to the platform for his third attempt, and that was his whole Olympics.
