Blatantly too young to have watched Yao.

    These two aren’t even close.

Yao could shoot, Yao had footwork, Yao had a silly soft touch, Yao was mobile for his size, Yao had better handles, Yao had better handles.

They’re not even comparable other than they’re both tall and Asian.

  • No one is making these kids take the offer? So you’re saying the parents/guardians have no influence over the kid accepting 50k? That type of money can be life changing to some folk. So many young athletes are pressured into accepting scholarships and deals by family members etc.

Just because it already happens in the baseball doesn’t mean it’s actually a good thing.

“To me it feels like you are preying on people who need the capital now and using that to cloud their focus on the future,” said Michael Haddix Jr., whose company Scout provides financial education seminars to college athletic departments. “It feels predatory, and it’s capitalizing on young people who need money and haven’t thought through the long-term implications.”

  • The more docs and behind the scenes clips you see of nba players, the more you realise that they have family members who either played professional basketball for a living, coached professional basketball for a living or were working in an nba FO or something.

They’re obviously genetically gifted but you find out that most have a contact that will take them to the next level. I guess that life and that’s how things work but I find it quite interesting.

Tatum for example has a Dad who played pro ball, his Godfather is Larry Hughes and his cousin is Tyronn Lue.
