  • My issue with this sub when it comes to on/off is that people often pick and choose when to use it or give it context.

    Like Russ without KD playoff lineups regularly performed better offensively than Russ with KD lineups. Yet you never heard anybody bring that stat up to say Russ is more impactful or whatever.

    Regardless, on/off isn’t that simple. The rotations you run and just quite literally the playstyle of the team all play a part. Hence why even Steph and KD on/off numbers got alot closer if you look at playoff only as well. Basketball doesn’t work like that and shouldn’t be looked at that way only when comparing two players.




  • Hes not all defense caliber but he absolutely is a 2 way player.

    I don’t understand this obsession with matchup defense. Hes an elite off ball defender who plays into our scheme perfectly in terms of overhelping and forcing turnovers. Also is still good enough one on one where he doesn’t get targeted.

    It’s the same reason why impact defensive metrics loved him so much. Our defense was solidly better with him on the court, even without Lu or Chet.
