In terms of playstyle, Reggie Miller and Jimmy Butler could not be further apart. But interestingly, if you look at their career trajectories, they share a lot of similarities

  • Neither guys were considered your traditional superstars. They were never really in MVP conversations or had a huge list of accolades(Reggie Miller is only a 3x ALL NBA team member. Butler is 5x all NBA member.)

  • Neither guy really put up monstrous regular season numbers. But they both have a knack for ramping up their production in the playoffs

  • Both guys have big personalities, a natural charisma and leadership qualities to them that helped elevate their teammates to great heights. They were also extremely competitive and notorious trash talkers.

  • Both guys are known for being extremely clutch and have several iconic moments in the playoffs. At the same time, this overshadows the fact that both guys have a lot of stinkers too and their clutch reputation tends to overstate how clutch they really are in big games.

        It’s one thing to compare stats and play styles, this guy is comparing hypotheticals like personality and charisma lol. Might as well throw in their astrological and zodiac signs in there.

        Sure it’s fun, but it is stupid. I did play along play along didn’t I?

          I don’t think their on court personality is anything close to zodiac signs lol, you’re reaching to try and make it seem like OP is being ridiculous. He’s making the point saying their personalities impact their on court play (elevating teammates, talking trash), and that it’s another similarity between the two.

          Trae Young is a good comp too. I just think calling it stupid and acting like you’re above it is goofy lol, idc how often you post here.

      Reggie is an okay defensive player until his later years. His Indiana just had a lot of players better than him on the defense.
