As for Ukraine, these Olympics were underwhelming since we only finished in 22nd place on the medal table despite previously competing for top 10 placements. There were some additional gold medals opportunities within reach. We completely failed in swimming, tennis, and some other sports. Still, the result is somehow decent considering the circumstances. What about your country?

Very happy with the Netherlands 6th overall score. For a small country I think that’s pretty good.

In terms of athletics Netherlands is a big country, not surprising considering the investments and resources the country has. They also did send the 12th most number of athletes. But to have the 6th most golds and 8th most medals is really good.

Equally Sweden with 10 million inhabitants getting sixteenth is great. Like winning beach volley in a country with little to no beaches to compare to warmer countries is fantastic

Yes, it’s a small country but there are lots of different sport venues to choose from.

We used to. But over the past years it’s been less and less. The new government wants to cut more on sports and programs. I am very curious to see how we’ll perform in games to come. Future generations won’t be so inclined to reach the level of athelticism that we showed this year.

If we can keep this up, get our swimmers and Judoers back on track, have a bit more luck with the female cycling and mountainbiking. We should be able to get a lot more. But the new government wants to cut the budgets, I say double them.

I’m a fat fuck and I really got inspired to try and do some more sports. I think we really need that and the current budget is about the price of a beer per person. I’d gladly pay two beers if it meand watching more of my countrymen achieve their dreams, and me thinking as a 41 year old, I could pick up one of those shooting sports and make the olympics.

I would absolutley not make it, but I like the what if dream for the fat fucks like me, and like the dream for the younger people even more.

Once every two year we celebrate people who give everything for a passion and watch them win and make it our own win, we also watch people not make it and continue on. Both are so very important as examples for the rest of us.
