This is cool and all but when I go to games sometimes I just wanna relax and enjoy great basketball. I’d be annoyed in this atmosphere after a while.

    It’s badass though, ngl.

Cue the Americans pretending like is isn’t awesome and it’s dangerous because they’re jealous their lifeless corporate jerkfest nba games have zero atmosphere.

What’s that got to do with the crowd? Lmao also Serbia is a 7m population country to americas 360+m. America should have dog walked them but they didn’t.

They were bright enough for Jokic to bounce your Lakers every playoffs easily

I don’t think it was the lights getting bright. Pretty sure it was their legs getting tired from trying to keep up with the US’s talent for 40 minutes. 3 point shooting and fatigue typically don’t go hand in hand

I mean they were hitting every single three in the first three quarters. You couldn’t expect that to last.

European basketball, where the quality of play is so mediocre the fans need to create their own show in the stands to entertain themselves.

Even as a kid going to a football (soccer) game, id just question what the hell was wrong with these people.

Usually its known which parts of the arena are for the hardcore, crazy fans and which side is for mpre of the neutrals, casuals or people that come with their families.

And god forbidd you are a fan of the away team that stumbled into the wrong side of the arena…best to just lay low at that point.

European sports fans are just different lol.

I went to a PSG vs Auxerre game in 2022 right before the World Cup started … and the Auxerre section of the stadium was cheering loudly all game long, even as they were down.

They lost 5-0. But they didn’t give AF lol. It was pretty cool to see.

Fans here in the US are mild af.

And I paid like $105 to get a row 1 seat near the middle of the stadium …

That same seat for an NBA game is like 50x the price, and way more for NFL.

Not just euro fans. South America, too. I was at a small local professional league match in Colombia, and the cheering section was only a few thousand people at most, but rowdier than an entire playoff arena in the states. Drums, huge banners/flags, chants, etc. it was awesome.

Very true. American sports are more entertaining to me but the crowds and atmosphere are terrible. A division 3 football match in Germany would have a better atmosphere than any American game by a mile.

It’s mostly just football fans, rather than Euro sports fans as a whole.

European F1 fans get all bitchy when a driver gets booed, for example lol

I think it has to do with how dangerous F1 is, so booing somebody who could have a fatal crash is frowned upon. But the atmosphere for any race not in the sandpits is always good.

Comparing European local professional sports (I.e. not the super commercialized teams like Real Madrid, Liverpool, etc.) to American professional sports is not even the right comparison. The closest thing to this video would be a college football game in like, the South. College football is just as nuts and filled with stuff you wouldn’t even dream of seeing in Europe: fighter jet flyovers, college bands, mascots, cheerleaders, tailgates…it’s just a different type of weird, and we don’t go and beat up immigrants afterward.

The best part is that they would not just fling a coin to the court. They would heat it with a lighter first so it is searing hot when it hits you.
