The basketball hall of fame tends to be a little more lenient than the baseball or football halls, which raises the question, what current player with a great career won’t make the cutoff?

Some borderline players who I think will probably but not definitely make it are Demar, Kevin Love, and Jrue Holiday. If they all make it, who is the next player down the line who doesn’t quite make it in?

Nothing borderline about Jrue if Team USA wins gold again. Go check the list of guys with multiple basketball gold medals. It’s an elite company…and Deron Williams. Jrue will get in. In terms of notoriety, he is just peaking late.

Love will get in because of his Minnesota stuff, the ring in Cleveland, and the Olympic gold. It’s enough. Opposite of Jrue. His rep peaked early.

For me, DeMar, John Wall, and Kemba Walker are Hall of Very Good. Those are probably the best guys who I don’t think should get in.
