The basketball hall of fame tends to be a little more lenient than the baseball or football halls, which raises the question, what current player with a great career won’t make the cutoff?

Some borderline players who I think will probably but not definitely make it are Demar, Kevin Love, and Jrue Holiday. If they all make it, who is the next player down the line who doesn’t quite make it in?

Cause of Age I’ll say demar Derozan he’s like at the top of HOVG but he needed another 1-2 all star appearances and maybe another all nba selection to have really solidified it

I’d say a top 10-12 ish player rn who may not accumulate enough accolades to make the NBA HOF might be Jalen Brunson because he will be 28 next month and only has 1 all star and 1 all nba team . I assume he’ll be a all star lock and mid tier all nba for another 5 years so because guards slow down around 33ish so at 6 all stars 6 all nba he might have a career similar to Kyle Lowry/chauncey Billups but that all depends on playoff success. No ring with those accolades and he might not make HOF. He will be Knicks HOF though.

all 3 you mentioned are probably getting in. Kevin Love got a title for Cleveland as a top 3 guy on the team. might be their only title ever. he was also a monster in Minnesota and probably got rebounding stats to boost his resume. idek about Love’s UCLA career but since him and Russ were teammates i’m gonna assume they were great. Derozan will be in just because of the numbers he put up. he’s 31st (nba only, 36th in nba-aba) in scoring nobody in the top 50 isn’t a HOFer. Jrue no question will be in because of the olympic gold(s) and titles. it’s so easy to get in the hall, well not easy maybe just a lower barrier of entry than the other leagues since it covers all of basketball and not just NBA.

my guess for this would be someone like Mike Conley

Nothing borderline about Jrue if Team USA wins gold again. Go check the list of guys with multiple basketball gold medals. It’s an elite company…and Deron Williams. Jrue will get in. In terms of notoriety, he is just peaking late.

Love will get in because of his Minnesota stuff, the ring in Cleveland, and the Olympic gold. It’s enough. Opposite of Jrue. His rep peaked early.

For me, DeMar, John Wall, and Kemba Walker are Hall of Very Good. Those are probably the best guys who I don’t think should get in.
