I’m a 90s kid so my generation is very familiar. Have not thought about them in ages though.
By divided, what do you mean? That’s not so strange and if a nation dominates a sport then that may be their goal. This year the US did it in basketball. South Korea swept all 5 golds in Archery. For these two nations sometimes it’s more surprising when they don’t sweep these sports.
More sustaimable then most. The fact that they used existing venues or temporary ones brilliantly augmented by Parisian monuments helps a lot. I think this was also the cheapest olympics to cost the host in a long time.
To be honest I don’t think its fully possible to achieve true sustainabilty with the olympics but this year did a decent job of trying.
I think it’s more of her not being the official bronze medalist in any record rather than the physical medal.
