That requires either watching the game live closely & attentively, or more commonly watching a replay of the game to be able to break it down. Two things a casual watcher simply doesn’t do. Majority of fans don’t do that which I don’t blame a percentage because it’s kind of hard to find breakdowns of certain games or even getting a full replay for free. YouTube usually just has highlights which is not a substitute.

Also some people just like to spread narratives to support their favorite player.

Ignoring the fact that Steph does play defense & has had moments where he looks perfectly fine vs the likes of Harden, LeBron, Ja, etc. in the playoffs. Whether that’s with help defense or not. The most important thing is your impact on winning at the end of the day & offense matters way more than defense unless you’re a C in the NBA. Best offensive player in history is more valuable than beat defensive player.

Also It’s not like Magic is a defensive force yet he’s in everyone’s top 10.

Luka had a pretty notable injury going into the playoffs this past year that obviously got better (or maybe he just played through it better) but he looked rough movement wise. Pair that with the fact he is always playing basketball in the offseason & has been professional since like 16 It’s reasonable to say he won’t push for an MVP. I’m not saying he’ll miss a bunch of games every year, I’m more so saying he won’t go all out in the regular season.

SGA can truly win it this year especially with how crazy that Thunder roster is looking. I actually don’t know if Luka will get a MVP in his career because with the inevitable Wemby takeover, & the concern with his body, he’ll always be in talk but might never actually get it. I think like 2026-2027 season (random ik lmao) will be his best bet/his era to potentially take home a few. I can truly see anywhere between 0 & 3 with him. FMVP give me SGA again too.
