Nene was a great defender, but by 2016, he was gone. Even before he left, he missed more and more time. They needed someone to be what he was for the defense, but that never happened.
Otto was mostly solid and was probably more consistent, game to game. Wall excelled as that looming free safety, though I do believe that his gambling was unwarranted at times. Overall, the team badly needed a defensive ace to go along with the much needed structure they lost by 2016.
