Interesting to hear that the Kings are seemingly searching for another star.

If this report is true, it sounds like the Kings are focusing on having an elite offense and relying on outscoring teams, instead of being well rounded on both sides of the ball.

Sabonis, Fox, DeMar, LaVine/Ingram are all elite offensive players, but their overall defence together would be quite underwhelming.

I think it’s a good approach since they would be further leaning into their identity of having a great offense, which can compensate for their defensive deficiencies.

The main concern is if this style of play would be successful in the playoffs as defence has always been proven to be an integral part of winning chanpionships.

I guess we would have to see how successful this group would be if they were to acquire one of LaVine or Ingram.

    Now I mean unless they want to give up Keegan Murray or Keon Ellis is available no reason to be interested. Monk isn’t that great as a Bulls fan would rather have Keegan, Keon, some combination of picks, or player/players from a 3rd team. I also don’t believe this because Lavine didn’t work with DeMarr he won’t work with DeMarr, Sabonis, and Fox. He won’t accept being a borderline 4th option on this team maybe Ingram works, he is in a contract year so he may be iffy on doing that like Randle on Wolves.

    Please god no. The absolute LAST thing this team needs at this point is yet another ball-dominant offense-only player. Let alone one that is/will be making $50m/yr to not be an All-Star. Fox/DeRozan/Sabonis/Monk will already all be sacrificing touches here and there for the sake of having a multi-pronged offensive attack.

    Monte. You’re good, dude. You made the big move, you brought in that “3rd star” that can provide another scoring and shot-creating threat in the tight games.

    The Kings are on a good path. Fox, Sabonis, and Monk are just hitting the start of their 4-6 year “prime” windows. DeRozan will probably give a couple solid years before passing the torch to Murray. The Kings are likely to be a top 6 seed this year and positioned to make a solid run at the WCF this year and/or next. At least see what this new version of the Kings looks like before dropping another bomb that will rapidly turn into a boat anchor of a contract - and if you are gonna do something like that, it damn well better be for a better player than LaVine or Ingram lmao.

    If there’s another move to be made, it should be trading Huerter for a bench forward that’s a legitimate defensive stud. Adding McDermott can essentially replace Huerter’s role on a fraction of the contract, the logical thing to do next is move Huerter to shore up the still-weak forward depth and defense.
