“I don’t really think the Lakers are serious anymore,” Cousins said. “I love everything that LeBron stands for… as far as the Lakers actually competing, I don’t know. I take that as a sign that they aren’t really serious.”

They picked him 58th in the second round, there wasn’t some diamond in the rough they passed on for him.

DeMarcus, you really don’t stand for everything LeBron is about because you see what he forced on the Lakers just to stay in LA.

And to think there was even a conversation about Bron being the goat over Jordan. Jordan has always had the motivation to win chips until he retired, Bron don’t care anymore. Not the mindset Jordan or even Kobe had.

Tbf, he was picked 55th. I’m not too aware of the last 5 picks, but were there any reasonable picks behind him? I mean I’d get if he was a frp, but the 55th is a throwaway pick anyway tbh

This is a nonsense take lol. Historically 55th picks have never had an impact on the league. Either dropped out, went to g league and so forth. Them picking bronny did absolutely nothing but make people mad and have these takes

If the lakers want a winning roster they should trade lebron and retool but they obviously just want to make money.

I get that it’s not a great look for us to draft Bronny but he was the 4th to last pick in this draft. Only 3 other players were drafted after him. The other 3 are on 2 way contacts so I guess for us to guarantee Bronny’s contract is nepotism. But what team wouldn’t have done the same thing if they had LeBron and the 4th to last pick in the draft? What player could they have drafted that would be contributing at that draft position? The worst thing I think is that it limits Bronny’s growth and putting him in an unfair spotlight.

“Give LeBron what he wants” hasn’t exactly been the worst approach for a serious team to take in the last decade.

If the second round pick doesn’t matter then might as well draft me

Idk, keeping LeBron engaged and competitive because he wants to ‘shine’ while his son is on the same team might be worth more than James Whocares who gets cut after 2 weeks.
