I think he meant Luka is better than Wemby, and Luka wasn’t able to get his team to contend. Until Kyrie joined, and Kyrie is another very good player. I believe he meant that Wemby isn’t as good as Luka, so the Spurs can’t win a championship til Wemby is as good or better than Luka, and has another player that’s insanely good like Kyrie.
I mean obviously I’m gonna sound biased but the 2 situations are completely different Luka was on a bad team that was bad just cus they were bad, we’re bad cus we’re a team full of early 20 yo’s who have barely played together. I know people wanna look at last year’s record and assume we’re terrible but the reality is thay the team left 15+ wins on the board simply cus for 80% of the year they just didn’t know how best to play together the advanced stats with our best lineups show that we’re actually already a capable team, that also doesn’t take into account that for some reason we had like a top 3 Strenght of Schedule to begin last year and were basically playing play-in/playoff teams for the first 20 or so games and that’s tough to deal with as a young team
