Danny Green, Shane Battier, Robert Horry, Convington and Avery Bradley are some of my favorites playing this role. I know OG, Derrick White are put in this category but personally I think they do a lot more than just 3&d. The question is are the number of players who specifically play only 3&d becoming less significant in current version of the game?

No, they’re still important. As important as ever really. Sure you have guys like White and Bridges, but they are borderline stars. You have to think more role player types. They have to be able to play defense and hit 3s. Look at the Celtics bench this past season. Horford, Hauser, and PP (to an extent) can all defend and they are all basically knock-down 3 point shooters. Everybody wants to be the Celtics.
