There are some super underrated legends of the game from back in the day. Nique, Jermaine O’Neal, Dennis Johnson, Bernard King, just to name a few.
Who, out of the players active today that are considered superstars (or were at one point), do you think will be mostly forgotten about and underrated for future generations?
I used to have this discussion with my roommate and he always said James Harden, which I thought was a good pick but I figured he’d have a chip by now and I always thought “The Beard” was a memorable… gimmick? Idk. My pick was always Paul George, but now I think he was spot on with James Harden.
I don’t know if he was ever considered a superstar but it seems Joe Johnson has already been quickly forgotten about. Same with Deron Williams, although I wouldn’t count them since they aren’t active anymore.
Who’s your pick?
People already forgot about LaMarcus Aldridge. Mike Conley will be forgotten pretty quickly as well as Derozan. KAT will be forgotten for sure barring a title run.
None of these are/were superstars. They were all either stars or all-stars. Superstars are the caliber of Giannis, Lebron, steph, KD, Giannis, Luka, Kyrie, etc…
Their edit allowed for non-superstar players that were really good.
Superstars aren’t really ever forgotten because in order to be a superstar, you have to be a multiple first team all nba player or MVP caliber player for many years.
Oh ok, my bad, didn’t notice the edit
Kids will see towns’ name on 7 footer 3 point records so that will get him a little love
I can already see the “KARL-ANTHONY TOWNS WAS A PROBLEM 😱💯🔥” Youtube video.
9 years in to his career, and He doesn’t even have half the Makes of Dirk. Maybe if he maintains a slightly higher 3 point percent, but IDK.
Mike Conley has never been superstar level.
None of the guys he named are. The closest i guess would be Aldridge.
I feel like the worst thing to happen to Conley’s legacy was making that all star game. He deserved it, but he was supposed to be the answer to “who’s the best player to never make an all star game”
So what’s the current answer?
Jamal Murray. He’s never going to make one in the West because guards like Booker, Curry, ANT, Luka, Kyrie,
