Only other time there’s been a stretch of 6 years when 6 different teams won the Finals is 1975-1980 when the winners were Warriors, Celtics, Trailblazers, Bullets, Supersonics, Lakers. There has never been a 7 year stretch of 7 different teams winning. 2025 could be the first time it will ever happen. Parity in the league this league has been fantastic.

I think Celtics are very likely to repeat than all those other teams. Their core is in their prime and no major pieces are aging. Everyone is on contract and the coach has no major issues. They are reliable in regular season to get home court for the entire run. Only major hurdle is a healthy Giannis.

Everyone said that about the Nuggets. I’m sure another team is going to build a roster specifically for the celtics. I wouldn’t say likely.

People last year were delusional into thinking the Nuggets were great. They won 53 games in their championship year and faced teams that averaged 44 wins in their run.

The Celtics were legit great. Not historic or anything, but definitely great.

Nuggets aren’t nearly as deep, made 0 moves to improve as a team and lost players.

The Celtics are in an easy conference and have an incredible starting lineup. Tingus pingus will probably be out for a month or two but they will be fine like they were in the playoffs.

The Nuggets faced an absolute buzzsaw of a Western conference and didn’t expect Murray to regress as much as he did.

The nuggets lost 2 playoff rotation players. The Celtics lost 0

The Nuggets play in a harder conference and lost players, either one could’ve prevented a repeat let alone both.

Brown was just snubbed by team USA. Tatum was just humiliated by his experience on team USA. This is the first time in history that a defending champion’s two best players come into the season with something to prove. I like Boston’s chances

You’re getting downvoted but I actually do see some vague parallels between this Celtics team and the 14-15 Warriors. Strength-in-Numbers approach to bball where the stars’ accomplishments were minimized due to (1) playing within their system and abilities and (2) playing whoever’s in front of them even if it’s an “easy” matchup. The team stays largely intact over the summer and the hunger to prove folks wrong grows over the summer.

Certainly not saying the Celtics are gonna become the 15-16 Warriors, but they’ve got the motivation and the team to come back locked in af for next season.

Hate it, but I totally expect Celtics to repeat.
