Only other time there’s been a stretch of 6 years when 6 different teams won the Finals is 1975-1980 when the winners were Warriors, Celtics, Trailblazers, Bullets, Supersonics, Lakers. There has never been a 7 year stretch of 7 different teams winning. 2025 could be the first time it will ever happen. Parity in the league this league has been fantastic.

Parity is great for the dedicated fans, but bad for ratings. Not saying one has to happen at the expense of the other, but it’s telling the difference in viewership of the Lebron vs Steph era to the recent parity, to the Olympics.

Maybe Wemby will be that next must-see player regardless of team affiliation or time zone.

As someone from a country very far away from USA. Ill say these things dont matter that much for the global fans.

I grew up in football, baseball and basketball niches. Theres a big bunch of people that play bball but dont follow NBA. The reason being the same as the other niches: too much intermission.

Also, most countries are football fans and theres only halftime as intermission there so going from one to the other is hard

For me, personally, it’s a little too much parity right now. I don’t wanna see the same teams ever year, but it also feels less meaningful if it’s always different teams.

A LITTLE more stability at the top would suit my tastes. If, for example, we could have Boston vs Bucks in the ECF and Denver vs OKC in the WCF, that’d be great.
