I have seen this sentiment expressed before, but I really hope the policy of NFL and CFL player ineligibility continues for the 2028 Olympics.

The US national flag football team has a well-established talent pool of amateurs who have won gold for the US at the World Games. They still dominate competition, but nations like Mexico, Canada, Italy, and Germany are often in swinging distance of them. It would be unfortunate for other countries and for these US guys who finally got their obscure pursuit added to the Olympics just to have pros swoop in.

It’ll be about money at the end of the day, but I hope the IOC has the sense to keep it to amateurs/semi-pros.
