I think the biggest issue with him was that he was a tweener, more so than the “mental” stuff. He looks shorter than Julius Randle who’s is 6’8 and isn’t nearly as strong. I just don’t think his game at his size translated in the NBA.
Nah he was fine as a stretch four, that was already coming en vogue in the early 2010s. He just had a horrifically low BBIQ, he had a negative AST/TO ratio for most of his career.
Condemn him for not adapting/transitioning to a stretch 4 role, sure, but that was not his game/not what we was drafted for which is what we are relitagating.
tweener or no, the “mental” stuff meant that he didn’t address it properly. Could be a small 4 or a regular sized 3. Needed to focus his game towards being a 3 and he could have been good.
Thank you for saying this. Beasley overpowered a bunch of college basketball players and simply couldn’t do that in the NBA. His jump shot was not reliable. Idk why people focus on “mental issues” to try and prop this guy up as some should’ve-been-world-beater. He was an elite college player, decent NBA guy

He has a career 52% TS, he wasn’t fine.

But he didn’t
