If you put Kevin Durant and LeBron James in a one-on-one match, who comes out on top? You’ve got Durant, the smooth, nearly unguardable 7-footer with a lethal jumper, who can score from anywhere on the floor. Then there’s LeBron, the physical powerhouse with unmatched versatility, capable of bulldozing his way to the basket or nailing a clutch three. Both are basketball savants with incredible basketball IQs, but it ultimately comes down to style—Durant’s finesse versus LeBron’s brute strength and all-around game.

    KD has a clear advantage.

You take away what is probably LeBron’s best attribute, his passing.

also his ability to drive the ball and his strength. I think KD is probably going to win but LeBron is also very capable of winning 1 on 1 as well.

Is it make it take it? KD can win off just not missing with minimal dribble but if Bron gets the ball and goes to the rim I can also see him not missing.

Honestly I think it’s whoever makes the first mistake and beats themselves first. I take KD to win.

It’s LeBron easily. It comes down to this: which is more automatic? KDs sweet jumper or Lebron at the rim? As automatic as KDs midrange is, he is bound to miss. Can KD ever stop LeBron from scoring at the rim?

Yes, I understand that KD and LeBron have more tools in their bag than just a midrange jumper and layup, respectively, but my opinion still stands.

I’m surprised to see such a consensus for KD, I thought it would be more mixed. I think Miami Lebron would beat peak Durant. That version was so explosive and strong that he could get to the rim consistently against Durant. I think he could body Durant up on the perimeter to make shooting more difficult.
