Oke so I know it is the olympics and USA is kinda supposed to win the tournamen with all the talent they have. BUT IMO this was the hardest olympics for team USA ever with france and canada and serbia all having really, really good teams.
Also with how LeBron played at this age and winning the olympics MVP award, I feel like this is another great accomplishment in his career. Wondering how everyone is feeling about this right now and if in your opinion it impacted his legacy and made him the goat or got him closer.
Edit: I am NOT saying this should change the way you think about lebron being the goat or not. I wad just wondering about your opinions about it
Yes. But he was the GOAT to me too
There’s a saying in academia “science progresses one funeral at a time.” This can be applied to the GOAT debate. I doubt many older folks(myself included) will ever put Lebron over Jordan. We witnessed Jordan, he left an impression when we were young, etc.
For a kid who is 10 years old he’s still seeing Lebron excel at 40 years old. These Olympics where Lebron beat the best player in the world (Jokic), beat the up and coming superstar (Wembeyama) will make a lasting impression and elevate Lebron to GOAT status in the kid’s eyes.
But we’ll have to have a whole lotta funerals first.
Name one iconic moment or game Lebron even had that would help his goat case.
MJ - Took the sport to whole different level. Transcended
Kobe - MJ Jr in a tougher era. Way more superstars
Steph - Greatest shooter ever. Best PG ever.
Bron - Greatest Scorer of all time. Since 03 crazy
SHAQ - Most dominant center ever. Unmatched. Unstoppable
When people talk GOATS, I’m in the minority of saying there’s 1 actual goat. There are many, but in different lanes. It’s like a pyramid until you get to the top.
Having the most points is not ths same as being the greatest scorer of all time.
The guy who have the most scoring titles is. They are also the oldest person to win the scoring title.
Certainly the best 39 year-old ever. Likely made possible by modern science.
Why does everyone ride LeBron so hard? Yall act like he is Jesus Christ. In reality he’s a basketball player who will never know your name. Go find a real hobby kids.
He’s better than Jordan in my eyes. MJ did everything in his power to block Thomas from participating, while LeBron used his powers to bring everyone to the table and elevate their legacy (especially Embiid). Jordan and his influence need to go away, and the USA Basketball should start with giving Kerr the well deserved boot.
