Oke so I know it is the olympics and USA is kinda supposed to win the tournamen with all the talent they have. BUT IMO this was the hardest olympics for team USA ever with france and canada and serbia all having really, really good teams.

Also with how LeBron played at this age and winning the olympics MVP award, I feel like this is another great accomplishment in his career. Wondering how everyone is feeling about this right now and if in your opinion it impacted his legacy and made him the goat or got him closer.

Edit: I am NOT saying this should change the way you think about lebron being the goat or not. I wad just wondering about your opinions about it

There’s a saying in academia “science progresses one funeral at a time.” This can be applied to the GOAT debate. I doubt many older folks(myself included) will ever put Lebron over Jordan. We witnessed Jordan, he left an impression when we were young, etc.

For a kid who is 10 years old he’s still seeing Lebron excel at 40 years old. These Olympics where Lebron beat the best player in the world (Jokic), beat the up and coming superstar (Wembeyama) will make a lasting impression and elevate Lebron to GOAT status in the kid’s eyes.

But we’ll have to have a whole lotta funerals first.
