LeBron wrote “Congrats, brother” on instagram, too.

They can say that. I think he is fantastic. But to me he’s more similar to CR7 than to Messi. And Messi is the GOAT even though CR7 has more CL titles.

Been pretty obvious for years now…

Only people who don’t accept it just like Rafa or Roger more, there’s no logical argument you can make

He’s the GOAT but he just doesn’t seem as likeable as Nadal or Federer.

He was already the GOAT. The only one who can catch him is Alcaraz, who is ahead of him at the same age but still obviously has like 15 more years to go.

Personally I can’t see Alcaraz chasing Fed or Nadal let alone Djokovic. Djokovic is the goat because he conquered the other two goats. Alcaraz is on par with an aged Djokovic at the backend of his career, and no other “goat contenders” in sight. Even if Alcaraz dominates once Djokovic retires, he will have dominated a “lessor” era.

We witnessed the greatest era in men’s tennis. Won’t see anything like it again. And Djokovic came out on top.

Talent wise I agree with you. I guess from a majors perspective, I can see him possibly catching him in major wins.

But I do agree that because his competition might not be viewed as strong, the perception could be even if he wins 20+ majors, he won’t be as highly ranked in the all time lost.

He does have an injury problem though. Hope that doesn’t hurt him long term. I remember Martina Hingis was supposed to be the GOAT women’s player and she started off really strong but then injuries pretty much ruined her career.

He is 100% the goat. Only argument is that Nadal and Federer did more for the sport or that they represented the sport better.

Nobody was as good or good looking as Pete Sampras. That’s why he’ll always be the goat.

Tbh I think he has been for a while, he’s resume is crazy. Most slams, positive h2h against Nadal and Federer, only man to have won each slam 3 times, most masters, only person to have won every masters twice (no ones done it once), most weeks at number 1, most atp final titles. Olympic medal was just the icing on the cake.

I was such a big Fed fan. I was stupidly invested in him being the GOAT. Then Nadal arguably surpassed him, and Novak surpassed them both, and I hopefully learned not to become invested in “who’s better at a game?” arguments.

He was certified Goat status years ago but this is just another golden ribbon on top of his other beautiful achievements. And in clay, Carlos is the reigning Garros champion too.
