Always have been
It’s hilarious how the media posts all the bullshit stories both ways. One day the Hawks are idiots and Spurs are getting Cooper Flagg with our pick. The next day the Pelicans are in trouble and their team won’t work.
I think it’s a win-win: Dejounte was not adding any value with Trae so we moved him for some much needed draft capital and we pick up Dyson Daniels for some much needed point of attack defense. Pelicans get the talented true point guard they needed on a great contract.
Unfortunately BI does not have much value knowing what you’ll have to resign him at which is why he’s hard to move.
They’ve been in the same spot since 2021 lol. Just floating along in the West
Not sure this move changes the needle in either direction so can’t say they’re in trouble now
And sidenote but that 2019 Pels young core was so loaded. Generational prospect, two other 2nd overall picks, and the 4th pick plus some Lakers picks
They need to turn things around quickly. It’s not looking good.
They’re stuck in one of the worst spots you can be in the NBA as a small market.
Fellow Sixers bro, our team could be in big trouble. Embiid is playing like he is 38 year old Dirk, and we have Paul George on a max contract for four years.
If I had to guess you’ll probably get at least 2 good years out of them both.
If they could pry Jarrett Allen away from the cavs for BI (would have to sign a friendlier deal) and pieces, it would be great for them. Don’t think the cavs move Allen, though - he’s too good and on a great contract.
Coming off a 0-6 record vs the Pels last year and getting absolutely crushed almost every game, as a Kings fan I thank the Pels for every questionable move they made this offseason. No more JV to match up with Sabonis and two less wings to throw at Fox.
Why did they get rid of Jonas in the first place is what I don’t get
Dickhead for a coach sat him almost every 2nd half for Larry Nancy he is hell bent on small ball
DJM/CJ/BI/Zion/Herb or random center is one of those “stacked” lineups that the 2K sim rejects and you win like 30ish games. Hawks wouldn’t even give up Capela for BI, Cavs won’t do Allen, no idea where they’re getting a starting center or even moving BI at this point
Would yall like Jarrett Allen
Not sure I’d say big trouble yet.
Ingram can still be traded. They have 4 other firsts in addition to all of their own firsts out to 2031.
They could make one or more trades and be fine.
What is with all the center talk? A few years ago the general consensus was way more supportive of just going small and spacing out the floor. Pelicans like playing small as much as any other team in the nba
You can do that if you’ve got a Bam or Draymond to protect the rim. Only thing Zion is protecting is his spot in the buffet line.
That was like 3 years ago…
