I feel like people are trying to gaslight me here lmao. He literally looked at the camera and said “I got Kyrie, should be fun”. Nobody’s saying that he did anything super crazy or was trying to cause beef or some shit but that’s a pretty direct call out/asking to be challenged
Kyrie literally sat down on TNT like 5 seconds after the game ended and basically acknowledged that he took it as a challenge that seemed kind of random/unwarranted and that it made him play harder but also that it’s not that deep it’s just competition and it’s also why we all like Ant. I don’t understand why you guys keep trying to act like there was nothing there. it’s not like it was some media conspiracy whipped up out of nowhere. Obviously him saying that affected the series to some extent. There’s nothing wrong with anything about it, he just kind of said something and then it affected how the opponent played, but it’s still something that happened
Lol what??? That’s like the greatest job of turning nothing into something I’ve ever seen. Bravo. Please tell me you work in consulting. If not, you legit should.
You’re grasping at straws, all he said was that it’s time to lock in and focus (sequentially right after his game 7 win against the Nuggets) and take on the Kyrie assignment next because he was tasked with the Murray assignment prior. Nothing said was controversial.
How is it grasping at straws when Kyrie himself literally said it made him kind of perk up and try harder and Ant is literally on the camera here saying that he shouldn’t have said it because it made it harder on him
It got so out of hand to the point that Ant can’t backtrack his way out of it now. Idk how it got taken out of context to begin with nor why Kyrie took it that way as well but that’s neither here nor there, all he did was mention his assignment and said “it was gonna be a fun one” lol
No he didn’t, and in the moment when he said it no one brought it up or gave it any mind. Then all of a sudden in the pregame show for game 1 of the WCF the inside the nba guys were pushing it hard and you could tell they were told to make that a big narrative going into the series when no one even cared or talked about it in the two days leading up to the game.
Because by Kyrie’s standard (which echos many NBA players, warranted or not), “no one can guard me”. By declaring that his assignment is going to be guarding him, that means he was implying that he can control him, or put a lit on it, so to speak.
Not at all, keep in mind, there hasn’t really been someone that was a real superstar that talked a lot of real shit talk since what, Kobe Jordan? Most people watching this shit never seen someone mouth off like this before lol. I don’t hold anything he says as a competitor against him. He’s also smart enough to be able to walk shit back lol
Did he really say anything controversial here? He said his match up is Kyrie lol. Not that he is going to run his shit.

Never thought I would see someone claim to be the victim of gaslighting on the nba sub. This is a new one for me.
Sure dude. It’s a reach. It feels more like ant is responding to the perception afterward created by the media.

You don’t get it. Here’s a translation for white people:
Ant: “I got Kyrie”
Translation: “I will do much better than him and beat him in basketball.”
kyrie also took it as a challenge so where do we go from here?
Making a pretty big assumption. I got Kyrie couldean a lot of things. And you are still reaching.
Who said he said something controversial?
Media definitely gassed it up and asked Kyrie about it a lot
No, it was something started on the internet. Basically got took out of proportion
So why don’t all players call out their matchups in the next series. May not be controversial to you but shit like that is not the norm.
But y’all acting like he said the man was trash or some😂 literally just said he got kyrie
All he said was that Kyrie is his matchup lol. He already knew Jaden was taking Luka. What are you talking about?

No surprise a redditor doesn’t understand

Bro what the fuck mental gymnastics did I just read lol.

It kinda reminded me of that clip of Kyrie talking shit to Kobe about how he’d 1v1 him and then getting locked up lol
