The scoring system: -3 for a swish, -2 for hitting rim, -1 for hitting backboard, and +1 for a miss.
Dorian Finney Smith wins with -27. Ben Simmons is in last with +11 closely followed by Claxton at +9.
Maybe I’m confused here, but how the hell did Simmons end up with +11. If you shot 3/10 you’d be at +1, and that’s assuming none of your makes are swishes. Obviously they are taking more than 10 free throws, but it seems like you’d have to shoot it really bad to end up with that score, in practice at that.
they have to be scoring this differently, i refuse to believe Bogdanovic, a career 86 FT% barely made it past zero unless he was straight up trying to give Simmons or Killian Hayes company.
My guess is they took 30+ attempts each though, not 10. not possible to get to +11 on only ten attempts. If it’s 30 attempts, it’s still horrific, we’re talking upwards of 21 misses, so max 30%. if it’s 50 attempts, it could be as high as 19 makes, 31 misses (one make hitting rim, the rest hitting rim and backboard)… at 38%. Either way, this is terrible, or just scored completely differently than what’s in the OP lol
I definitely agree, I was waiting for someone better at math to prove why this doesn’t make sense, so thanks lol.
I wonder if there is some kind of handicap system so better FT shooters are held to a higher standard
Or if they have like +2 for a brick +1 for a roll out
Agree. Would make more sense if it was -2 for a swish.
Yeah, I don’t buy that scoring system is accurate unless there’s a pretty important detail missing. Maybe they have to shoot immediately after running suicides. If there’s any truth in the original description, I would be inclined to think anything buy a swish would be a negative.
