I’d argue that Paris put on the best show since London 2012. Great athletes, incredible venues, and the people of Paris were supportive of the Olympics. I’d argue it is really helped rebound the image of the Olympics. Couple of hiccups with the Opening Ceremony and the Seine controversy but really smooth job by Paris.

    I think what made it immense was that basically all the infrastructure was already there. Paris 2024 could focus on running the event itself rather than scrambling to get venues finished like in Rio.

    Of course it all went smoothly.

    I also like how there will be no white elephant permanent venues.

    This is how you do an Olympics ladies and gentleman. Basically if you aren’t ready to host it yesterday then don’t apply.

    I am really fearing the Brisbane Olympics for this reason. It’s already looking like a political shit fight.
