2 months agoThen I hope Steve tries out next year. He, like anyone else, should be able to have a go. And if he’s the best out of the Australian qualifiers, send him over.
Not every country gets to perform as well as their peers at the Olympics. Not every team gets to have a Cool Runnings moment. Sometimes we’re shit, and if we can’t laugh at ourselves on the world stage trying our country’s best and not coming close, we’re a bunch of tightasses that have lost sight of the point of sporting competition.
From all accounts I’ve seen the qualifiers were poorly run and only in one location in Sydney. I think the NOCs or the IOC did a shit job, but I don’t think it was foul play nor do I think she should be responsible for stepping aside just because she knows there are better dancers.
