3 months agoI realize it’s easy to say at this point—and also SL doesn’t really mean shit—but I just did not understand this guy going number two, other than the measurables and plus athleticism (not freak athleticism, either). It was like etched in stone he would go to the hapless Wizards, when there were at least five guys clearly better at basketball than he is or will ever be.
That said, he should grade out to be a good defender in the league, although you have to also wonder about the fight of a guy who quietly avoided as much competition as possible throughout his pre-NBA career
Who could have predicted that a dominant college player with an incredibly deep offensive bag and an NBA frame, who worked relentlessly to move through the college ranks, would translate to the league? How do guys like this always get overlooked?
