  • so depending on roster construction I think theres instances where KD would have a larger impact which is all i meant when I said who the better player is can be subjective.

If KD’s defensive impact could overcome the difference between curry’s and his offensive impact you would be right but we know that isn’t the case. Because KD doesn’t protect the paint, his defensive impact is about the same as a curry’s over a large sample size.

Then you mention the words ‘playmaking or ‘ball handling’ when we talk about their offensive impact and the gap between curry and Durant’s offensive impact becomes insurmountable. It’s not a coincidence curry has the deep ties to winning and KD has the deeper ties to losing. KD isn’t on the same level as curry otherwise OKC would have a championship.

  • but I don’t think Steph is a better player per se. I think he creates a better offense and is a more impactful player,

Curry is the better offensive player and is more impactful than KD because he’s simply the better basketball player. People have a hard time with this concept because KD is taller and has a more aesthetically pleasing jumper which of course is a shallow way to evaluate who affects winning more.

KD never joins the warriors he likely never wins and we aren’t having this discussion. He should be compared to james harden not curry or LeBron.
