It’s for assistant coaches to see how the guys already signed to their team perform in certain situations, and evaluate guys for G-League rosters or open 2-way spots.

It’s most certainly not for NBA fans to determine whether or not a rookie is NBA ready, but boy is there a certain kind of fan that loves to pretend it is.
