I’m a new basketball fan, trying to get into the sport, watching nba games and stuff, and as someone who’s completely new to the sport I’d like to know what you love about the game?
Do you watch for specific players? Specific teams? Why’d you choose to support your team?
As someone with no attachment, I’m finding it hard to choose a team to support. I don’t want to just choose the best, and don’t want to just choose the team I live near… I want to find a team I enjoy watching and supporting.
Basketball was the most popular sport in my household. My dad and brother are 6’7 and im 6’2-6’3, so maybe thats a part of the reason we all love it its a tall mans game. When youre tall youre probably lucky to have more success in a tall mans game, and maybe that makes it more enjoyable. I love being able to practice on my own, baseball was my second favorite sport growing up, but its hard to go practice on your own compared to basketball.
Id recommend just watching players and then hopefully youll find a team organically. I’ve never lived in Florida but Im a magic fan. Love the city of Orlando, had great memories visiting there, watched the team play and liked some of the players who were on the team at the time. I also didnt want to choose a team that was killing it and Orlando was not doing too great around that time. It was a good fit it was organic I didnt force it but it feels right.
