Kings have got in Demar Derozan. Yet they are losing to a depleted Golden St Warriors team right now. Why are they so mid every year? Why don’t they get a great coach like Monty Williams that can atleast take them to the WCF?

The Kings starters beats the Warriors starters. When second half started, Warriors still had their starters outs (Kuminga, Moody, Podz, Buddy, etc) while the Kings immediately jumped to their 3rd string players. The Kings 2nd string are injured (Lyles, Carter, McLaughlin, and Robinson. Monk left the arena after 9 minutes). So the Warriors had their starts/2nd string play against the C/D King teams…and didn’t blow the Kings G-leauge out.

If I was a Warriors fans, I would be scared that they only won by 10 points.

this is crazy. Kings actually looked really good and were up on the Warrior’s starters before they went out at the half.

Look at their best players. Sabonis, Fox, and Derozan are the epitome of the “mid 3” archetype.

I mean imo I think you have really solid pieces…. but those solid pieces would be 3-4th in the pecking order for the best teams. That kinda makes you mid lol

Kings played half the game with their 10-20 guys and warriors played with their main role players that whole stretch, including kuminga, buddy, Brandon, etc. It was an NBA bench vs a g-league team in a no-stakes game with no sets being called. What are you smoking

All u need a a decent offense with good defense to beat em. Need a bruiser big to shutdown Sabonis. Fox will get his, but it comes down to shutting down sabonis. They play off of him.

Three likely rotation players didn’t even suit up either (Huerter, Lyles, Carter).

The season hasn’t even started yet. And becoming a playoff regular/playoff competitor is a massive step for the organization, considering their recent history.

I don’t think they are mid as much as the fact that they play in a very stacked western conference. Also, while Sabonis might be a good offensive player, he is terrible on defense, especially at the center position. If the Kings got a rim protecting center and move Sabonis to the 4, I think they move up more on the standings totem pole. Lastly, it’s the preseason, bro. Half the game is being played by guys that won’t be on the roster when the season begins. Just because they lose here doesn’t mean they are mid.
