Talent is at an all time high. And we will be at 32 teams. Not only that but individual roster sizes have also increased. All in all the talent pool is way bigger now. Is that enough to justify All NBA 4th team?
25 teams / 15 All NBA spots = 1.67 teams per spot
32 teams / 15 spots = 2.13 teams per spot
32 teams / 20 spots = 1.6 teams per spot
To maintain the balance that existed in 1989, a 4th All NBA team would be necessary
I think the NBA would be better if they globally expanded the way the NFL has done. Designate teams to different global regions but have them outside the typical divisions to create new rivalries. This would be better than the IST in my opinion. To do this you’d have to extend the timeline of the season and probably increase b2b in the foreign regions.
