Just trying to get this offseason post in before the offseason is over!

The impact Taylor Swift has had on the NFL is undeniable. Apparently ratings went up a lot after she started dating Travis Kelce. Female viewership especially increased. The NFL started mentioning her on their official social media accounts. She was like rocket fuel to a money machine that was already headed to the moon.

I was curious. Has anyone ever affected the NBA in a similar way? It doesn’t have to be a singer, but just someone that impacted the league’s bottom line the way Taylor did.

    There were quite a few… obviously not as huge of an impact due to social media not being a thing yet, but still big news. Chris Webber dating Tyra Banks and peak Brandy with Quentin Richardson when he was still a Clipper.
