No the gap isn’t that big. But all people remember is Hakeem going absolutely crazy against him in a couple playoff series

He was just playing so good and would’ve outplayed anyone. Would’ve made Kareem or Moses or anyone look foolish

Its like Lebron vs KD. You can compare accolades and awards and stats. But at the end of the day. 1v1 on the hardwood, first to 11, we know whos cookin who.

Hakeem absolutely daddy-dicked Robinson in the '95 playoffs. As in the The Dream delivered the dreaded Real Admiral on The Admiral, repeatedly.

Coach Pop had to re-animate David’s corpse Mountain-style when he took over the Spurs the next season so he could mentor the Big Fundamental

The Dream famously got the better of the Admiral in their most high profile showdown but what can get lost after so many years was Rodman’s refusal to defend Hakeem during that series, meaning not only was Robinson having to play his normal role as the Spurs’ offensive engine while getting routinely double/triple teamed (and an angry, motivated Olajuwon did nothing to help matters), he was also having to pull a massive load on the defensive end as well. Boxscore watchers will look at Robinson’s numbers after that series and dismiss them as him underperforming; IMO it was a goddamn miracle he managed to put up the stats he did given the situation he was facing. Out of the two I’d take Olajuwon but it really was a lot closer than people think.

I can’t ask a genuine question and get more knowledge about the game?

When you start looking at those 90s Spurs rosters, they were rough. David Robinson wasn’t playing with really any all stars. Of course he was blessed with Tim Duncan later on.

Hakeem was a great player from the second he came into the league. Robinson had a short prime that included getting absolutely owned by Hameem. The admiral was phenomenal but he’s a tier below Hakeem and Shaq. A top 30-40 player all time but Hakeem is a top 13-20 player all time.

Yes if you only ignore Hakeem outplaying and beating David Robison in the playoffs which is a higher level of competition, they’re very close.

If you go through the head to heads, they dominant each other 50 % of the time.

    It’s a bit of a joke really

    They were basically sane level

Go check head to head if you don’t believe me

I thought Robinson was better year to year but there’s no denying Hakeem was ridiculous on those two playoff runs.

Yeah this is tough to explain without watching the playoffs series but Hakeem absolutely demolished David in their highest profile series which settled the debate for a lot of people.
