Not that Sonics fans won’t show up anyways, but having KD’s retirement tour being their first year back would create a lot of hype, especially amongst Seattle area kids who weren’t alive yet when the Soncis moved

Rookie Durant played shooting guard, if I remember correctly. PJ Carlismo was the coach - weird usage on his part with the benefit of hindsight.
I remember Durant struggled from 3 that year and was seen as a bit of a chucker. There were haters, but In the modern era of social media, he’d have probably been clowned on quite a bit. The very next season, with the Thunder, he became the player he’s always been. Can’t believe he’s been in the league for almost 20 years now. What a fuckin’ trip.
