Since the IST is now officially called Emirates NBA Cup. We now have three trophies for a team to win in a single season. These are:

• NBA Cup • Conference Championship • Larry O’Brien Trophy

If one team wins it all in a single season should we call them the NBA Grandslam Champions?

It doesn’t make sense to include the Conference Championship when every single champion has it by default. It’s not a separate achievement.

A real triple crown would be the NBA Cup, the Larry O’Brien, and the league’s best regular season record (like the NHL’s President’s Cup).

It’s called the Maurice Podoloff Trophy. They only started giving it out in 2022-23.

I think an easy fix to legitimize it is by retroactively giving out the awards to past league leaders. There’s no “what if” factor anyway. The league best regular season records of past years are set in stone, you can pretty much give them the awards.
