I remember reading about his mental health stuff back in 2013, he was basically a somewhat insufferable internet leftist who blamed his mental health issue on capitalism. Apparently he just swung super hard to the right less than 3 years ago and now he’s gonna run for senate on a lunatic platform.
The Republican Party is starting to change to an extent
While they’re staying far right socially, they’re becoming somewhat moderate when it comes to fiscal stances. Look at JD Vance.
This isn’t the party of Reagan, this is the party of Trump, and this new GOP is starting to espouse economic views they wouldn’t have said in 2012. For better or worse.
Free trade is definitely not a leftist economic policy. The GOP is definitely going down an economic populist route, but the party still cares about its pro-business and rich donor class.
