Top-end stars are needed to win a chip, but more importantly every championship team has to have at least 6-7 above average players to go all the way. It doesn’t seem like the Bucks are anywhere close to that. Giannis still looks like the best player on the court in every game I’ve ever watched him, yet the Bucks don’t feel like real contenders.

not as much as Lebron’s is. Lakers have stood pat for a couple years with a trash roster

Lebron is playing next to a top 5 playoff performer and has only lost in the playoffs to the best player in the NBA.

The Lakers absolutely rolled over Grizzlies and Warriors (defending champs) in the playoffs. Sure, they could have better depth and coaching but I wouldn’t say his years are being wasted.

He hasn’t really been healthy the last few runs plus the Bucks won a chip in 2021, so it hasn’t really been a waste

He got a title and he’s a beast. Not sure it’s wasted if you have at least 1 chip.

A lot of players never even win 1 chip in their prime.

Maybe we should just strip the league down to like 6 teams so every star can maximize their prime years.

    Is Jokic’s prime being wasted?

Everyone on all 30 teams is trying to win a title, one one of those 30 does it each year. We are on an unprecedented streak of 6 champs in 6 years and only one of those teams had a title within the decade prior to their own.

Wasting would be tanking the team and not attempting to win. The Bucks have made some questionable moves, but all were with the goal of winning, but it just didn’t work (and Giannis being hurt come playoff time was a killer).

Please, get off your high horse.  You wouldn’t be on r/nba if you were such a purist I’m just getting some opinions here, and I’m enjoying it.
