i’m not seeing either one in the top 5

    Tier 1: MJ, LeBron

    Tier 2: Kareem by himself

Tier 3: Shaq, Wilt, Russell, Bird, Magic

    Tier 4: Hakeem, Kobe, Duncan

That’s my top 11, argue within the tiers all you want, but I’m putting Steph in the 5th tier but could easily see him break into Tier 4 if father time is kind to him

I’d put Duncan over Russell and Wilt—they are both overrated in my book.

Accolades speak for themselves. Peak-wise, Steph is in a GOAT conversation in a short spurt, but I will take Duncan’s two way performance in 2003 finals over Steph’s 2022. Duncan and his spurs teammates may not have outstanding individual offensive stats because they prioritized efficiency and fast ball movement. He still had elite stats and was the cornerstone of one of the most dominant defensive teams in the most defensively dominant era.

I’d put Duncan over Kobe for sure, but I’d put Curry over both of them.

Have you seen every NBA player in history play? If not, the hell with your top 5

With modern technology/medicine, players are getting better and better. Almost any sport you can think of, their GOAT has been within the last 30 yrs. Just look at the Olympics. Each sport keeps pushing their own limit. So based on pure skill (not on accomplishments) no player before MJ should be on the top 5/10 list. IMO
