I get that the first day was iffy, and Raygun made it the butt of the joke for the women’s comp. I still think all the other b-girls did fantastic and shouldn’t have their skills, athleticism and dedication to the sport be discounted.

However, the second day with the men’s comp took it to the next level with physic-defying power moves and some even more impressive sets. It easily became one of the most entertaining events of the Olympics.

I also understand people having doubts with the subjectivity of the judging but that’s nothing new in sports as many people have made the comparison to artistic swimming and rhythmic gymnastics.

I’m so glad Paris made breaking an addition to the games. Wholesome and amazing sportsmanship all around. There seems to be a real sense of camaraderie between the competitors too. It’s turned me into a new fan. Hopefully it gets reintroduced in Brisbane 2032!

I loved it and it was really interesting once I had watched a round or two. All the different moves that they could do, while also avoiding repeats and doing it all on the fly was very impressive.

Shame Raygun stole the spotlight because 671 and India had some incredible moves that I wished more people could see.

Infuriating how many people are so gleefully harassing and belittling this woman and how reddit is doing fucking nothing about it.

The moves were impressive, everything else was cringe.

The skill involved was impressive from the people who took it seriously. Still isn’t an Olympic sport.

Problem is one moron from Australia did that much damage in a single performance it’ll never recover.

The hate for inclusion of breaking starter way back. The RayGun memefest is also the result of hate. As I was watching the event live, I couldn’t comprehend how her performance went viral so quickly, and the broadcast wasn’t even over yet. As I scroll the subreddit I couldn’t find any good stuff about breaking. There were many good moments from the event but nobody cared to Highlight them.

As one of the pioneers of breakdancing said the other day, breakdancing was never meant to be scored on an iPad.
