Starting from the debate on NBA/Olympics champions/World champions (a debate that will NOT be the focus here), I asked myself: which world champions confirmed their titles in the Olympic Games? And which did not?

For example, the Argentina team won the football World Cup, but Spain is the Olympic champion.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find any comprehensive list of world champion titles anywhere, so I had to make one. :)
The source for the data is Wikipedia. I searched “[name of sport] + world championship” and looked for the latest event.

Sometimes the data is from 2024 (for example, the 2024 Swimming World Championship), sometimes from 2023, and sometimes even older (for example, football is from 2022).

Some events do not have a literal world champion. For tennis, I deliberately chose the ATP and WTA rankings. For tennis doubles, nothing applied, so I left it unassigned.
I apologize for the Italian event names; take this as an opportunity to learn some Italian words. :)
