Involve a huge cheerleader pyramid, but with the stunters dressed in more decorative costumes related to an LA historical theme. Work in skateboarders and BMX bikers.

A tribute to Hollywood, from the Silent Era through the Golden Age, New Hollywood, the Blockbuster/Franchise era, and today. End it with a tribute to notable LA music lead by a modern pop star, maybe a song or two from the counterculture era (Beach Boys and the Doors), Sunset Strip scene (Metallica/Guns N Roses duet), and/or 90s era (notable West Coast Rapper/The Offspring/Lana Del Rey).

The closing ceremony should represent the music scene of the city a little bit - invite Katy Perry for California Girls, System of a Down, other pop artists or a relevant band to cover California Dreamin’, and have a whole beach party vibe like what the hand-off presaged. Somehow incorporate Old Hollywood Regency Glamor, Googie Kitsch, and a mix of vibrant 60s and Y2K aesthetics.
