If it were a country it would have no budget at all and would not get a medal. Unless it had a unique talent such as Saint Lucia.
These universities don’t exist outside of the gigantic state apparatus that makes the US successful.

Most athletes associated to universities almost entirely use facilities and coaches funded by school revenue.
How does this count athletes who graduated from one school but currently train at another?
Probably a different story if Baseball and American Football were events.
It would add only 1 more medal to the sum.
We will see in 4 years. Baseball will be added. Flag football instead of american though.
