I mean what do you expect to get with second round picks. Aaron Wiggins was literally picked 55th. You have to go almost 20 picks above him to find someone better in Ayo. To find a serviceable role player that far down in the draft is a steal.
You have Guy Santos, Jay Scrub, Isaiah Wong, Kyle Guy, Arnoldas Kalbolka, Nigel Williams, Marcus Paige, Cady Lalanne, and Semaj Criston picked at the 55th pick in the decade around him. He has played more minutes than the rest of these players combined.
It would take extreme hating to not acknowledge that this was a phenomenal pick given the position.
Aaron wiggins is not 9th man on OKC. With the addition of Caruso he might be 8th now but he was 7th before that on a team that is very deep. Keep underrating the man who saved basketball you bum

Hes done a whole lot more than that. Guy drafted durant westbrook and harden too. Though he did trade harden for probably cheap i cant remember lol you take the good with the bad sometimes and hes done a lot of good for their team

The story for every pick and player is different, but even top FO’s missing badly in the draft is interesting. Not that it matters when you hit more swings than you miss.
Presti always had some iffy draft picks (Hamidou Diallo, Terrance Ferguson, Poku, Giddey, …) i never would have put him amongst the best drafters of recent years
With or without hindsight Giddey was a decent pick; he’s clearly an NBA player, albeit an idiosyncratic one. There are maybe five players drafted after him that you’d take over him, and only two I think are definitely better.
I never liked Giddey’s fit and projected outlook as a prospect tbh.
I’m not a good or consistent talent evaluator at all but just imo i never liked the pick and fit and haven’t been proven wrong so far.
And just because there are a lot of bad players drafted in the rest of the draft doesn’t negate that OKC missed out on 3 later lottery picks that all would have been a better fit and better player no doubt.
Giddey at least isn’t a athletic wing non shooter like other Presti Busts - but he still is a non shooter & non defender at a premium perimeter position
He’s got a type - he looks for either really smart do-it-all players or big wings.

you’re mostly right but i’d say giddey is actually a decent scorer. he’s crafty and uses his body well enough to create space. he’s just pretty inefficient and a giddey iso play shouldn’t be your first or second option
