Did we really need to pause the closing ceremonies to give Tom Cruise’s massive ego a dedicated boost of publicity? Ugh!

The palm trees were fake or new or… there was something odd about them, right? Like, anywhere else it was empty, except were the stage was.

I liked the Hollywood sign transformed with the Olympic rings. Otherwise, definitely culture shock and though I know Snoop Dogg and hip hop in general is huge world wide, the dancer with Snoop - is that image really what America wants to portray on a global level?

I want to see what they’ll do about the homeless people all over the city. I remember I could only get around by car because it was impossible to walk—every bridge and street was being used as housing by them, and at night it was even worse

I loved Paris so much. I am sad it’s over. They achieved to transfer the monumental meaning of the culture of arts and old history France has that is unique and made it so everybody could get a glimpse of it. Everything had meaning and importance. Some meanings you could only get if you really researched french history. It felt monumental to me and mad me emotional many times. I love for them that the organizational teams did their job so well that France could really represent itself with all its values and character.

Still I am looking forward for all future olympic shows. I hope LA can implement some of hollywoods history f. ex. the development of the film. Would be really interesting to see. Also all modern LA culture, since thats really authentic for the city.

As it should be 👍 Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish and Snoop were great ways to kick it off.

France, we loved your olympics, now here’s how we do it in the USA, west coast style.

You’re not wrong. It doesn’t seem likes it’s going to be the US Olympics, it will be the LA Olympics. I think what LA represents is antithetical to the Olympian spirit. The city hates the rest of the US just about as much as the county hates them.

I think Paris was boosted by the fact that Tokyo couldn’t really go full blast because of COVID. We basically had an 8 year gap between fully realized Olympic games. That’s not to say, Paris wasn’t enjoyable. It was. So much in fact. I loved it.

I’m excited for LA because what they lack in iconic buildings they’re probably going to make up for in Hollywood glitz and glamour. The opening and closing ceremony is going to be the Superbowl halftime show on steroids. As much as Americans get a bad rap around the world, their entertainment industry is not the most popular media around the world for nothing. They know how to put on a show.
